So, it's YOUR SENIOR YEAR! There is so much you have accomplished and a lot of decisions to make...now is the perfect time to capture photographs to commemorate your life for the past 17/18 years!
Where to get started?
Whether you choose me as your photographer or not I highly suggest meeting them to see if you vibe well together. Your facial expressions are going to be the main focus during this process so if you are not comfortable it will shine through in all of your images. So grab some coffee and discuss your interests! It's best that your photographer gets to know you in order to tailor the session to fit and your personality!
Bringing out your personality
Whatever your hobbies are (sports, fishing, foodie, juggler, etc) we will incorporate them into your session. Or if you have family/cultural traditions you are also able to bring items to represent them too. The point of your session is to bring out everything that best describes you.
Being the center of attention for the day can be a little nerve wracking so put on some of your favorite tunes. You would be surprised how something so simple can make you feel at ease and look your best in all of your photos!
Bring a Friend
Always bring a parent with you but you are also able to include your friends. They may help you to feel comfortable and know what to say to really bring out those genuine smiles :)
Hair and Makeup
I suggest having a hair and makeup-artist because they will know the best make-ups to use when being photographed. Some make-up will make your skin appear shiny, especially if the photographer has to use a flash. (check out my preferred vendors page for hair and makeup artist I suggest)
If you are doing your own hair and makeup avoid makeups with SPF or a Mineral base, they will create shine. Apply your makeup slightly darker than you normally would but not too much that you are not recognizable. Mascara is a must! As far as eye shadow stay away from pastels, they make your eyes look washed out. Also, refrain from all eyeshadows that have sparkles in them because they will create spots when any light reflects off. Always practice your hair and makeup before hand.
So you did not get the tan you want or you have tan lines....just let me know and I will make sure to take care of that during editing! I am able to give you a nice little glow...but please NO SELF-TANNERS! They cause your skin to be orange and blotchy, trust me when I say it will make you not like the photos.
Make sure your clothes make it out of the dryer in a timely fashion lol, at least for this day! Wrinkles are very difficult to remove even in photoshop. So just make sure you take the time to remove them before hand. Select your favorite outfits that represent you. Highly recommend to not wear solid RED, if you are up against anything green your images will look more like X-MAS pics instead of Senior. Solid colors otherwise are more preferable than super busy patterns.
Make sure your undergarments are color appropriate so they do not show through. Example...white shirt or skirt you should wear nude bra or underwear. Guys make sure your boxers aren't going to bunch up underneath your clothing.
Your hands are going to be in pretty much every image, so tidy them up and make them look presentable.
I love glasses and if you would like to include them in your photos, just bring an extra pair without the lenses to avoid the sun's glare or the camera's flash. You can wear your regular glasses up until that time or have contact lenses in.
Talk with your photographer how many outfits you will be able to get to based on the time you have them booked for. If you have multiple hours booked, bring a rolling suitcase with your clothes/accessories.
"You're not YOU when you're HUNGY" ~Snickers Commercial
Also, pack snacks and drinks...like the snickers commercial says "You're not you when you're hungry". You don't want to be HANGRY
